Caste census is going to be conducted for the first time in India, this is a decision which is going to mark a new milestone in the country’s social and economic history. The main objective of this first caste based census is to bring about a change in the society. Every section of society needs to be understood properly and taken forward for development in the right manner and everyone’s every situation needs to be taken care of.

Define ” Caste Census” ?

Caste census means that the population of our country is counted on the basis of caste. Caste census was first conducted in India in 1931. But after some time this process was stopped, then again for the first time 2025 it have restarted this process.

Importance of implementing Caste census system

Towards social justice: Through this process our government will know which caste or class is backward and what policies should be made for them.

Bihar was the first state in India to start this census, which was named caste based census.Under this, the Bihar government had said that there would be OBC and EBC population in the state. The number is very high in the state

In our country some parties also consider it a political part of vote bank.

  The data of people from every section of India will be kept secure while ensuring that it is not misused.

Tension may increase in some places in society on the basis of caste among the people, this will be stopped .

Our government says that caste based census will provide factual data, so that all the policies made by the government in future will be more inclusive and targeted. Government It was also said by the Census is very important for social harmony and development.

 If the Caste Census is implemented properly, it will prove to be a boon for all the backward classes of our country. This is a very big decision of the Government of India which will make India’s backbone even more.
